“The Future Starts Now” was the theme of the Lenox Hill Spring Gala in New York for its 125th anniversary. 40 opulent tables were created by designers around the country for the black tie event. I used a favorite Italian Futurist painting from the Museum of Modern Art as my inspiration. The Italian Futurists were focussed on capturing forward movement in their paintings. The color palette is pulled from Gino Severino’s “Dynamic Hieroglyphic of the Bal Tabarin.” All design elements, from the floral design to the fabrics and ceramics, reflect the momentum of the progressive energy to honor the next 125 inspiring years of the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House.
