I ran this post two years ago on the second annual Small Business Saturday and have added a few more to the list….Here of my favorite Charlotte design and fashion haunts that are all run by small business owners that are incredibly talented, chic and stylish. Shop away!

To snap out of a bad mood, just walk through the doors of Campbell’s Nursery. Jesse Campbell’s orchid filled space will lift your spirits and make you want to fill every room in your home with his beautiful creations.

The lovely Laryn Adams has an eye for the unique and up and coming designers. Her fearless taste in clothes and accessories makes this shop unlike any other in town.

THE ENGLISH ROOM-519 Fenton Place

On a quaint street in Eastover, interior designer, blogger, shopaholic (self professed) Holly Hollingsworth Phillips has collected a delightful assortment of modern and colorful home accessories, gifts, furnishings and jewelry.

For the cheeky and those with a sense of humor, this is THE place.  Voted  “Charlotte’s Best Gift Store,” “Best Place to Buy a Present ,” and “Best Place to Buy a Stylish Gift” by several local publications.  This is hands down the best place in town to purchase everything thing from hilarious cards and design books to gift wrapping and an amazing selection of Christmas ornaments.

David Newcombe and Rusty Griffith’s mission is to “Provide the extraordinary”   The owners have a created a beautiful home for 70 vendors in the old McColl Center for Fine Art. The two story open setting is the perfect showcase for vendors to display their goods including everything from jewelry and small accessories to antiques, artwork, and upholstery.

This 7000 square foot warehouse holds lighting, upholstery, drapery, artwork and antiques from over 35 merchants.

More than 50 artists, merchants and designers sell their wares at this Plaza Midwood outpost.  Described as “Paris Flea Market meets Soho.”
